This week there have been a bunch of websites that have gone dark, because of the recent bills that are going through congress. The bills are SOPA (stop online privacy act) and PIPA ( protect ip act). The main thing they are trying to do is to stop pirating of music and movies. One of these sites is craigslist which is a buying and selling website of just about everything. The reason that they are blacking things out it to have people complain to their local congressman or sign a petition to stop congress from passing this law. For many sites just shutting it down would cause a lot of people to get angry.
